Louis S. Angioletti, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Louis S. Angioletti is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery and macular disease.  He is an expert in the care of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and in the surgical management of retinal detachments, as well as macular hole and macular pucker surgery.  He is an attending surgeon of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Carl Icahn School of Medicine of Mount Sinai.

He has authored a textbook chapter as well as professional journal articles on the subject of surgical retina. During his tenure as an associate clinical professor, Dr. Angioletti has presented a paper as well as a myriad of posters at the annual ARVO (The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) Meetings on the topic of retinal imaging.  Dr. Angioletti has assisted in the training of 154 ophthalmology residents and 22 retina fellows at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary since 1992.  He currently serves as the Retina Service liaison to the Operating Room Committee and is a member of the Medical Board of the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in New York City.
